Friday Pin-Ups: New Year, New Resolutions

January 4, 2013|Posted in: odds and ends

There’s a part of me that always appreciates an exercise in futility, which probably explains why I still make New Year’s resolutions, despite the knowledge that I’ll probably give up just a few months later. Either that, or I have an unfortunately optimistic view of my potential for self-improvement.

Let’s vote for the later.

So, with boundless optimism, I’ve resolved to attempt the following in 2013:

  1. I shall bring a bag lunch to work at least twice a week, though three or four days a week would be ideal.
  2. I shall go to the gym at least once a week, and to work out at home at least twice a week in addition.
  3. I shall de-clutter my life… and, more importantly, my house. Starting with the dreaded basement storage room.
  4. I shall make my own wedding dress, though I may possibly lose my sanity (or, at the very least, my temper) in the process.
  5. I shall start blogging about things that don’t involve recipes a little more often, starting with the return of the Friday Pin-Ups series. (Particularly since none of my resolutions involve kicking that pesky Pinterest addiction.)

What’s on your plate for 2013? Eating better? Exercising more? Traveling to distant and exotic places? Spending less?

Whatever it might be, I wish you luck with your resolutions.

As for me, I know there’s at least one resolution I’ll probably achieve… mostly because I’ve also resolved to make these five gorgeous, healthy and lunchbox-ready recipes within the next month.

Good for you, Isabelle – those are some great resolutions. And might you consider blogging about making your own wedding dress? What an impressive and interesting project! I can barely sew buttons. ;)

i love your simple, yet realistic goals for this year :) hope you are able to accomplish that and much more. I am in love with your lunch ideas, esp the chicken & spinach flautas.

Great resolutions! I always find that sharing resolutions with others makes you more accountable to them in the end. Good luck with #4! Post pictures!

Those are very good resolutions, and looking at your recipe challenge for this month I believe it’s going to be as delightful as healthy. Although I think #4 is by far the most challenging one, so good luck!

In the team we do have some New Years Resolutions too. Most important one: we want to get to know better the food bloggers that we already follow, and we would like to organize an event to put faces and voices to all of you ;)

As for me… I’m going to use the work out card. We are cooking and working on many recipes and I’ll have to balance all that food!!
