Friday Pin-Ups: Soupy Goodness

February 17, 2012|Posted in: odds and ends

My apologies for the lack of updates this week . With Mumsy Dearest in town for a few days, I decided to spend a little less time on blogging, so that I could have more time for hanging out and catching up.

There was still plenty of food made and eaten… but for a change, I just dug right in rather than taking a few dozen photos first.  I’d almost forgotten what it feels like to sit down to a plate of piping hot food. :)

(I’d also forgotten how annoying it is to burn your mouth with too-hot food, but that’s a different story)

Things will be back to normal next week. Pinkie swear.  In the meantime, here’s a small selection of lovely soups to keep you warm and cozy, especially since someone else has already taken the photos… all you have to do is grab a spoon and go for it.

That lentil soup looks amazing… must give it a shot!

I hope you get a chance to try it, Caitlin… I made a big batch on a cold weekend last month, and it was absolutely dee-licious. Surprisingly healthy, too!

Wonderful soups! Winter will be here soon and I’ll need these. :)

We don’t want to give up summer but you folks up north insist that we do.

Oh, please do… I really miss summer, and it’s only fair that we get our own half-year share. :)
Besides, if it was summer all year round, you’d never get a chance to make big pots of soup or slow-cooked stews and such.
